For Health Professionals
Introduction to Management of Concussion and Persistent Symptoms Course.
This two day course is designed to educate you on all aspects of managing patients with persistent symptoms following a concussion. The NRG team will educate you on the physical systems that can be affected following a concussion, how to assess them, how to treat them and how to measure when your patients have recovered.
The team will also spend time discussing the important role of the bigger picture in managing our patients with persistent symptoms which we believe is a big part of the rehabilitation process. There is a focus on return to learn, work and sport and how to do this in a graded way. The course is presented by our senior concussion team including physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. The two days has a mixture of lecture and practical sessions. The objective is for all the attendees to be equipped to manage the patient with persistent symptoms post-concussion and know when to reach out for help.
The course is specifically designed for physiotherapists but in the past has been appropriate for exercise physiologists, medical staff and other allied health. The team are often invited to run this course interstate at sports institutes (eg. AIS, WAIS) and other private practices. See a list below for upcoming courses.
